I have received notice from Senator Seán Kyne that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the potential of an offshore wind development at Ros an Mhíl pier, County Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator Joe O’Reilly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the supports and services provided for gambling addiction and problem gambling.

I have also received notice from Senator Pat Casey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the Arklow Bank Wind Park phase 2 project.

I have also received notice from Senator Eugene Murphy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on the future of the job club service and job club staff in the context of the new regional employment service.

I have also received notice from Senator Barry Ward of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to address the lack of parity between traditional and simplified Chinese characters in leaving certificate Mandarin Chinese.

I have also received notice from Senator Fiona O’Loughlin of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on plans for the development of a hospice in the midlands.

The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on the plans, if any, he has to separate the office of director general of Science Foundation Ireland from the office of the Government’s chief scientific adviser.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Kyne, O’Reilly, Casey and Murphy and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
