I have received notice from Senator Frank Feighan that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to put plans in place to address the road dangers posed by the Cootehall and Croghan road junctions on the N4 between Carrick-on-Shannon and Boyle.

I have also received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to provide an update on the implementation of the programme for Government commitment to examine the possibility of extending the remit of the Comptroller and Auditor General to include expenditure by local authorities.

I have also received notice from Senator Aodhán Ó Ríordáin of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to provide an update on the need for a permanent building for Dún Laoghaire Educate Together primary school.

I have also received notice from Senator Lynn Ruane of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government to amend the definition of "political purposes" in section 22 of the Electoral Act 1997, as amended, to alleviate the effect the Act is currently having on civil society organisations' participation in public affairs.

I have also received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill of the following matter:

To call on the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs to provide equitable remuneration to múinteoirí réamhscoile.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion. I have selected Senators Feighan, Boyhan, Ó Ríordáin and Ruane and they will be taken now. Senator Ó Domhnaill may give notice on another day of the matter that he wishes to raise.
