Before reading out the Commencement matters, I understand a vote will be called in the Dáil and that the Minister who comes into the House may have to leave. It is quite possible that the Minister may not be back and that consequently, a Member may be cut short. I ask those Senators called first to be as frugal as possible with our debate, because if they are not, they will cause problems. Once the Minister leaves, we will be obliged to suspend the House. I was not aware of this.

I have received notice from Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide an update on the new building for Holy Angels Day Care Centre.

I have also received notice from Senator Kieran O'Donnell of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to outline his plans to provide additional cataracts surgical procedures in County Limerick and the mid-west.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to implement a patient safety, clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness evaluation of teleconsultations to provide guidance to practitioners, service users and providers in Ireland.

I have also received notice from Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to give a timeframe for the reopening of Rush Garda station, County Dublin.

I have also received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to provide an update on the provision of funding for the proposed Athy ring road.

I have also received notice from Senator Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State at the Department of Education and Skills to implement a protocol to ensure students repeating their leaving certificate examinations have access to bus passes through the school transport system.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Murnane O’Connor, Kieran O’Donnell, Colm Burke and Clifford-Lee and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
