I have received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to recognise a newly-released audio file of Ayatollah Montazeri, successor to Ayatollah Khomeini, in 1988, which reveals new evidence about the massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners, including women and children, in Iran's prisons in the summer of 1988 and accordingly condemn this brutal massacre as a crime against humanity, and act internationally to support the global campaign seeking justice for the victims.

I have also received notice from Senator Pádraig Mac Lochlainn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State at the Department of Defence, in co-operation with An Taoiseach, to organise a military medal for gallantry awards ceremony at Áras an Uachtaráin for the surviving members and the families of the deceased members of A Company, 35th Battalion - UN service of the Irish Army ONUC contingent in belated recognition of their heroic service to the UN and the honour that their actions during the siege of Jadotville has brought upon the Irish people.

I have also received notice from Senator Keith Swanick of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make available capital investment for home-care facilities at risk of closure as a result of not meeting the physical standards required by the Health Information and Quality Authority, HIQA.

I have also received notice from Senator Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government to create specific national guidelines pertaining to solar farms to help local authorities deal consistently with applications.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion. I have selected Senator Mac Lochlainn's matter and it will be taken now. Senators Ó Domhnaill, Swanick and Lombard have withdrawn their Commencement matters which I had selected.
