Before I call the Leader on the Order of Business I wish to announce that I have received notice in writing from Senator Jimmy Harte of his resignation as a Member of Seanad Éireann. I wish to thank Senator Harte for his co-operation and assistance during his time as a Member of the House and I wish him well in the future.

I would also like to pay tribute to Senator Jimmy Harte. As we all know, he had a very bad fall and had serious head injuries as a result and was unable to attend the Seanad. I am sorry to hear of his resignation. Senator Harte was an excellent Member of this House. He certainly represented the people of Donegal and indeed his family has given long service to the people of Donegal. Senator Harte ran in several marathons to help charities. We would all like to wish him good health and happiness in the future and hope that he will recover in the weeks and months ahead. We also wish his wife, Mary, and his children well. It is sad that he had to resign his seat under the circumstances but we certainly wish him well.
