I have notice from Senator Thomas Byrne that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to explain the reason for the continued refusal to supply the Soliris or eculizumab drug to those in need.
I have also received notice from Senator Lorraine Higgins of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to issue a direction to county councils to abolish any outstanding rates bill imposed on community, not-for-profit early childhood care and education services in light of the proposed abolition of commercial rates.
I have also received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to provide a transparent analysis of the ESB's use of defective timber electricity poles between 1996 and 2008 and that such analysis would include the number of poles procured and used, the locations where they were erected and the steps taken to date to rectify the matter.
I regard the matter raised by Senator Byrne as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule out of order the matters raised by Senators Higgins and Ó Domhnaill as the Ministers concerned have no official responsibility in those matters.
