Building Control (Carbon Monoxide Detection) Bill 2014: First Stage

I move:


That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to provide for the installation of life-saving carbon monoxide detection devices in dwellings; to provide for certification of compliance; to provide for offences and penalties to apply in respect of instances of non-compliance and to provide for related matters.
There have been a number of deaths in recent times and this is an effort to take the first steps towards solving the problem.
