The need for the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to outline the progress in upgrading the Shannon Town wastewater facility which services the town of Shannon, the international airport , the two industrial estates adjoining the airport as well as surrounding areas.
I have also received notice from Senator Catherine Noone of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to outline if there are any plans for the Department to assist with the development of Rathdowney shopping centre, given its importance to the retail and social revitalisation of Laois, and similar sites throughout the country through a rates discount.
I have also received notice from Senator Marc MacSharry of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Health to confirm or deny the existence of a draft report on maternity services in the HSE West North-West hospital grouping area, as prepared by the consultants, Health Partnership, to outline the terms of reference provided for the preparation of this report and the report's so-called draft recommendations specifically in terms of the number and location of maternity service centres in the region, and to clarify the Government's position on this matter.
I have also received notice from Senator David Cullinane of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation to outline, in relation to regional grant aid, the plans that are in place to create a level playing pitch for the south east in comparison with the Border, midland and western, BMW, region, and the concrete steps that have been taken by his Department in 2014 to help create and sustain jobs in Waterford city and county.
I have also received notice from Senator Marie Moloney of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Social Protection to outline the role she envisages for the local employment services, with the change in the partnerships, the creation of the LCDC and also the rolling out of JobPath.
I have also received notice from Senator Mark Daly of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to review the importance of the public service obligation contract for renewal for Kerry Airport, as this airport plays a vital role in the region with regard to business, jobs and tourism.
I have also received notice from Senator Fidelma Healy Eames of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Finance to ensure Irish home owners are given first right of refusal and a window of time to buy back their mortgage from any bank selling their loan book and, failing that, to ensure any new foreign bidders buying Irish mortgages must conform to the Central Bank's code of conduct for mortgages.
I have also received notice from Senator Kathryn Reilly of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs to discuss funding for youth services, the cuts being implemented to youth services, how this is impacting on the viability of particular projects, and if she will consider reversing the cuts.
I regard the matters raised by Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Senators Tony Mulcahy, Catherine Noone, Marc MacSharry and David Cullinane, and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters which they wish to raise.
