I move:

That the proposal that Seanad Éireann resolves that section 17A (inserted by section 2(1) of the Diseases of Animals (Amendment) Act 2001 (No. 3 of 2001)) of the Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (No. 6 of 1966) shall continue in force for the period ending on 8 March 2010, be referred to the Joint Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in accordance with paragraph (1) (Seanad) of the Orders of Reference of that committee which, not later than 5 March 2009, shall send a message to the Seanad in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 72, and Standing Order 74(2) shall accordingly apply.
