I move:

That Seanad Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion provided by Article 1.11 of the Treaty of Amsterdam to consent to the adoption of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for the adoption by the European Union of the Agreement on Extradition between the European Union and the United States of America, done at Washington on 25 June, 2003 and the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance between the European Union and the United States of America, done at Washington on 25 June, 2003.

copies of which Agreements were laid before Seanad Éireann on 24 April, 2008.
