I have received notice from Senator Paddy Burke that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the facts surrounding the discrepancy between the hospital figures and her Department's figures in relation to the number of breast cancer procedures carried out in the past 12 months in Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar, County Mayo.

I have also received notice from Senator Jerry Buttimer of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to address the need for a new school building for Ballygarvan national school, Ballygarvan, County Cork.

I have also received notice from Senator Shane Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to outline if the M50 barrier free tolling scheme scheduled to commence in August 2008 is on track for commencement and if he proposes to retain any function in relation to the setting of toll rates.

I have also received notice from Senator Michael McCarthy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to immediately allocate funding to provide floodlighting at Ballinacarriga Castle in Dunmanway, County Cork.

I have also received notice from Senator Pearse Doherty of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to address the unacceptable situation whereby school secretaries and caretakers across the State are receiving disparate rates of pay and the fact that these workers, if they are not covered by the Department's 1978-79 scheme, are, in many cases, paid below the minimum wage.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected those raised by Senators Burke, Buttimer and Ross to be taken on the conclusion of business. The remaining Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
