I have received notice from Senator Pearse Doherty that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to reinstate the summer works scheme and refund the costs incurred by those schools which had applied for the scheme in 2007.

I have also received notice from Senator Shane Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to grant permanent recognition to Glasnevin Educate Together primary school.

I have also received notice from Senator Déirdre de Búrca of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline her intentions regarding implementation of the recommendations of the Pollock report commissioned by the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland and published in 2005.

I have also received notice from Senator Nicky McFadden of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to clarify the reason he has not approved funding for Westmeath County Council's application, given Athlone's gateway status, to provide the main drainage necessary to service the increased growth and development as required by the national spatial strategy.

I have also received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to simplify the application process for the new housing grant schemes to make it easier for the disabled and elderly to avail of the schemes; and if he would reconsider his decision to terminate the HSE special housing aid for the elderly scheme which is due to cease on 31 March.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Doherty, Ross and de Búrca and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators McFadden and Ó Domhnaill may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
