I have notice from Senator Tuffy that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to ensure our regime for dealing with sex offenders is comparable with those in Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom and that there are no gaps that allow those registered as sex offenders in those other jurisdictions to move here for the purposes of avoiding stricter controls.

I have also received notice from Senator Morrissey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to outline the legality of razor clam fishing in or near special areas of conservation, specifically off Portmarnock beach.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to provide an update on the current status of the application made by Mac Eoin Park Residents' Association, Longford, for funding under the programme of grants for locally based community and voluntary organisations.

I have also received notice from Senator Ulick Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to reassess the Comhairle na nOspidéal report which opposed the establishment of a neurosurgical facility at University College Hospital Galway, to re-examine the need for such a unit and to provide the necessary funding.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Tuffy, Morrissey and Bannon and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Ulick Burke may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
