I have received notice from Senator Brian Hayes that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to grant a special needs assistant immediately to a student (details supplied), and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have also received notice from Senator Tuffy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to report on the urgent need for refurbishment works to be carried out at St. Brigid's national school in Palmerstown, Dublin 20.

I have also received notice from Senator Mooney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to consider implementing the recommendations made recently by Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal child care committee.

I have also received notice from Senator Ulick Burke of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Health and Children if she is aware that no additional funding was provided to the western region of the Health Service Executive for children under 12 years of age with special needs from the current funding allocation announced recently as all resources have been allocated for adult support.

I have also received notice from Senator Morrissey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide a list of all primary and secondary schools which lack the necessary facilities to provide the level of physical activity recommended in the national task force report on obesity, such as the schools in Castleknock, Dublin 15, as specific examples of the lack of adequate facilities, and to provide an estimate of the level of investment needed to ensure each school has adequate facilities for physical education classes.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected the matters raised by Senators Brian Hayes, Tuffy and Mooney and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
