I have received notice from Senator Kitt that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to outline the position regarding the sewerage system for Glenamaddy, County Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator Bradford of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to outline the status of the promised decentralisation programme for Mallow and Mitchelstown, County Cork.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Toole of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to sanction the employment on a permanent basis, as opposed to on a part-time basis, of specialist subject teachers for subjects such as art, woodwork and home economics, to cater for the majority of students in the Catherine McAuley school and other special needs schools on an ex-quota basis.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to explain the prohibition on a Nigerian woman (details supplied), a qualified nurse, from engaging in full-time paid employment.

I have also received notice from Senator Browne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to investigate the outbreak of cryptosporidium in Carlow town and surrounding areas.

I have also received notice from Senator Wilson of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Transport to make a statement on the need to develop the east-west route as identified in the national spatial strategy.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Kitt, Bradford, O'Toole and Bannon as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Kitt, Bradford and O'Toole and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Bannon may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise. I regret I must rule out of order the matters raised by Senators Wilson and Browne as the Ministers have no official responsibility in the matters.
