I have received notice from Senator Kitt that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government to make a statement on the arrangements in place for incentive payments and top-up grants for persons who have sold bog and turbary rights; and if a review of the scheme could be carried out to assist people who had bog designated since 1998.

I have also received notice from Senator Phelan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to make a statement on the actions her Department is taking to ensure the viability of deer farming as an integral part of the agricultural industry in the future, with particular reference to the changes taking place in the Common Agricultural Policy.

I have also received notice from Senator Wilson of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the steps taken to implement the proposals contained in the Department of Health and Children statement of 29 September 2004 on Cavan and Monaghan general hospitals.

I have also received notice from Senator Morrissey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide additional special language teachers for Sacred Heart national school, Hartstown, Dublin 15, which has an international pupil intake of 225 out of a total enrolment of 930 students.

I have also received notice from Senator Ulick Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to carry out an urgent and thorough review of the job losses in Ballinasloe, County Galway, in consultation with local task force groups and other statutory bodies with a view to directing investment in job creation to the town which was stated to be a priority for this Government since 1999.

I have also received notice from Senator Feighan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism to explain the conditions which apply to the provision of grants towards public leisure centres; the number and location of applications currently being processed and the average length of time it takes to process an application.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Kitt, Phelan and Wilson and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Feighan, Burke and Morrissey may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
