I have received notice from Senator Brennan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to indicate the current position on an application by Limerick County Council for refurbishment works at Glenma housing estate, Croom, County Limerick.

I have also received notice from Senator Terry of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to report on the delay in fully commissioning the new facilities at James Connolly Memorial Hospital.

I have also received notice from Senator Higgins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to approve the necessary funding for the extension of the Ballyhaunis sewerage scheme to Derrymore, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo.

I have also received notice from Senator Kitt of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to state if he has received a report from An Post concerning the downgrading of Kiltormer post office, Ballinasloe.

I have also received notice from Senator Tuffy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to give the up to date position on the urgent need for additional school accommodation at primary and second level for the growing population of Lucan, County Dublin.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to explain why towns which did not qualify under the original scheme but urgently need incentives to survive are not allowed to participate in the town renewal tax incentive scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Feighan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to intervene in respect of the proposal to replace kitchen staff in the Plunkett nursing home in Boyle, County Roscommon, with outside caterers; and if this proposal is part of a wider policy by the Department to close down such facilities.

I regret that I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Kitt as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. I regard the matters raised by the remaining Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected Senators Brennan, Terry and Higgins's matters which will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Tuffy, Bannon and Feighan may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
