I have received notice from Senator Wilson that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he wishes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to make a statement about the need to retain and maximise the use of Loughan House, Cavan, as a prison and place of detention.

I have also received notice from Senator Cummins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline why Fenor national school, County Waterford, has not yet received sanction to proceed with the construction of a learning resource room when a verbal commitment from the Department was given that the work would commence as far back as December 2002.

I have also received notice from Senator Ulick Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to provide funding to the Western Health Board for the reopening of the residential addiction unit at St. Brigid's Hospital, Ballinasloe, County Galway, the closure of which has given rise to serious concerns within the community.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to make a statement on the status of phase 2B of Mullingar hospital, with particular reference to the possible loss of its accident and emergency and maternity services under the proposals of the Hanly report.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Wilson, Cummins and Ulick Burke and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Bannon may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
