An Ghaeilge: Ráitis
10:30 am
Michelle Mulherin (Fine Gael) | Oireachtas source
Tá rud beag ach an-tábhachtach le rá agam. In respect of speaking Irish, we all admit that we went to school and learnt Irish. I loved Irish and here I am speaking English today. I signed up to do an Irish class in the Oireachtas and, believe it or not, the only opportunity to do so was on a Thursday evening. Try as I might, I have so many engagements, as I am sure other Members do, that Thursday is not suitable. I question how much consideration has been given to Members. I ask that the Minister of State look at this issue because I am sure there are Members who would like to improve their Irish. The opportunity is available to take classes from beginner level right through to advanced. Thursday evening is really not suitable.
