This is a worthy amendment, but the debate should not be about whether there is fluoride in our water. What is being sought is a review. We can debate fluoride extensively - my view is different from that of other Senators - but that is not what we are debating here. The issue is whether to have a review. It is sensible to do that. It does not matter what Senators think, as it is simply proposing that there be a review. I hold a different view from Senators who oppose fluoride in the water supply, and I am entitled to hold that view, but let the experts examine it. We should not be debating the pros and cons of fluoride in water at all. Perhaps we could hear what the Minister thinks.
