Dogs, including the famous one on "The Late Late Show" recently, can command stud fees of up to €1 million for their owners. Many of the greyhound industry dogs are sold for thousands of euro yet it is believed rural Ireland will collapse if a €6 one-off fee is imposed on breeders.

an exaggeration of unbelievable proportions, the Senator is out by a factor of 1,250 . . . . there was never a greyhound in the world capable of commanding a stud fee of a million . . . . Late Late Show was available at the princely sum of 800euro during the height of his popularity, putting Senator O Brolchain's mark up at 999,200 euro . . . . hopefully the Government will last long enough to rotate him into Minister for Finance
