I concur with Senators in their request for a debate on the Middle East and the ongoing conflict there. It has been a long tradition that we have a debate on the Six Counties and I am aware that one will be facilitated this year. Does the Deputy Leader know when that debate will take place, especially given that a number of events are being organised internationally and at home to mark the tenth anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement negotiations? I ask that Senators support a request I have made to the Committee on Procedure and Privileges that as part of the debate in the Seanad we would invite the First Minister, Mr. Ian Paisley, and Deputy First Minister, Mr. Martin McGuinness, to address the House.
