How do you put up with all these people David... They must all have come from truly model families judging by their high moral stance. Will Ireland ever be rid of such ignorance I ask. Give them a vote, a dictionary, a little boys suit and off they go, it's Walter Mitty time. I find all their unenlightened comments amusing to say the least when I cast my eye over them about once a year or two. Ah yes, the gombeen run nation. The "fix the road" and "get the medical card for Mrs.Murphy politics".. You soldier on David against these biggots. God love them but they know not what they do, yes, I mean that literally. I find it amusing how the term "the family" is bandied about in Ireland by these pundits. The reality is that many Irish people come from very dysfunctional families and society has failed many people. These debates based on the nature of ones genetalia are absurd to say the least. I always found it amusing that when people who oppose gay rights think of gay people, their minds immediately fast forward to what gay people get up to in the bedroom.

Well, all of the neglected, abused and dysfunctional children, to date, have come from the traditional marriage pool. I am amused by the spurious assertions that the extension of marriage to same sex couples will cause the heterosexual utopia to disintegrate!

If marriage is the bedrock of Irish society then surely allowing same sex couples marry would add to and enhance this bedrock?
