Pharmacy Bill 2007: Committee Stage (Resumed) and Remaining Stages

6:00 pm

John Minihan (Progressive Democrats)

I compliment the Minister and her officials on bringing the Bill before the House. It was a long time coming, but the Minister made a commitment which has been honoured. The Bill is for the betterment of the profession and patients. The pharmaceutical profession and society can now move forward. The profession has been recognised as an integral part of the health service. Pharmacists can enter the profession and deal with patients on a sound legislative footing. I thank Members for their contributions and look forward to the early passage of the Bill in the Dáil before it is brought back before this House.
