The question then arises as to whether, in certain circumstances, one should use an embryo for research into Parkinson's, Crohn's or other diseases. I am greatly taken by Senator Feeney's remarks. Without being personal, in any sense, some of us may have loved ones who are very ill. If we believe that those who cannot speak as a result of a stroke, are unable to walk or cannot look after themselves could be cured, I ask each Member to consider what he or she might do in those circumstances.
