John Minihan (Progressive Democrats)

I join previous speakers in calling for a debate on the arts – we have not had such a debate to date – to allow me the opportunity to highlight the plight of the Cork School of Music, which I have highlighted on a number of occasions. Equally, I wish to join with Senator Lydon in calling for a debate on stem cell research. However, I disagree fundamentally with what he said. It is dangerous to say we would be destroying human life by voting for the proposal.
