I would like the Leader of the House to ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to come to the House to explain his crazy suggestion that local authorities should be allowed to determine the opening hours of pubs. This reckless and crazy idea does not address the serious problem of excess consumption of alcohol.

On a lighter note, I am sure the Leader, who is an avid football supporter, will join me in congratulating Brian Kerr, manager of this country's football team.
