I apologise for interrupting proceedings but I wish to make a brief announcement for the information of Members. In accordance with the Houses of the Oireachtas (Appointments to Certain Offices) Act 2015, following from a nomination made to me by the Top Level Appointments Committee and on foot of a recommendation made by me under the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act, the commission today has appointed Mr. Peter Finnegan as Clerk of Dáil Éireann and Secretary General of the Houses of the Oireachtas Service. I offer Peter my personal congratulations on his appointment and wish him well for his future in the role.
