Before proceeding with business I wish on my own behalf and on behalf of the Members of Dáil Éireann to offer a céad míle fáilte, a most sincere welcome, to His Excellency Armando Emilio Guebuza, President of the Republic of Mozambique, and his delegation on his state visit to Ireland. I express the hope that you will find your visit enjoyable, successful and to our mutual benefit.

I understand that the President intends stepping down at the next election, due in October of this year, after two terms in office. I wish you many years of happiness in your retirement and also many years of good health. You are very welcome.
