I bring to the attention of the House for its approval the technical amendment introduced on Report Stage in the Seanad last week to amend section 5(5) of the Credit Guarantee Bill 2012. The amendment removes the provision relating to powers of the Minister to amend or revoke a scheme under section 5. This is an inherent power to amend or revoke a statutory instrument under section 22(3) of the Interpretation Act 2005. Accordingly, there is no need for the revocation provision to be included in the Bill and its removal was suggested by Parliamentary Counsel.

Seanad amendment agreed to.
