Fianna Fáil objects to the taking of this Bill until there is appropriate clarity in regard to disability allowance. The Taoiseach and the Minister made various statements during the past few days indicating the decision to cut the allowance would be parked. The Minister has indicated that the matter will be reviewed by a particular grouping. We are not happy with this. It is necessary for the Taoiseach or the Minister to make it clear that there will be no impact on disability allowance as constituted for young adults.

The Deputy will have ample time to discuss that matter on Second Stage.
