I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Finian McGrath - the need to protect children from child abuse, drug addiction, homelessness, prostitution and severe mental problems; (2) Deputy Derek Nolan - the need for the Minister to outline measures to address the anomaly in rates legislation which obliges Galway City Council and Waterford City Council to provide a 100% refund of rates in respect of vacant properties as opposed to 50% for other urban authorities; (3) Deputy Simon Harris - the need to develop an opt-out system in regard to the storage of Guthrie cards to ensure the protection of a valuable resource in preventing cases of sudden adult death syndrome; (4) Deputy Paudie Coffey - the establishment of a university of the south east; (5) Deputy Terence Flanagan - the need to continue to provide funding to parents of children who attend Achieve ABA, Kilbarrack, Dublin 13; (6) Deputy Gerald Nash - the need to review and improve ambulance services in Drogheda, and in Louth and Meath in general, in light of the death of a man (details supplied) in Drogheda, County Louth on Thursday, 26 May 2011; (7) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the need to provide OPEX funding to Galway Airport for the next three years; (8) Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn - the need to address the problems caused by the non-completion of an extension at Letterkenny General Hospital, County Donegal; (9) Deputy Mattie McGrath - to ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the rationale for the imminent closure of the post office in Bansha, County Tipperary; (10) Deputy Robert Troy - to ask the Minister for Transport to reverse a recent decision to withdraw public transport from St. Columba's national school, Cloonagh, Dring, County Longford, given its particular rural location, and to make a statement on the matter; and (11) Deputy Joe Costello - the need to ensure there is adequate supervision of the electoral process for the 2012 elections in Angola.

The matters raised by Deputies Joe Costello, Paudie Coffey, Terence Flanagan and Éamon Ó Cuív have been selected for discussion.
