Before coming to the Order of Business, I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 32 dealing with two different topics. I propose to deal with these topics separately and I will call on Deputies in the order in which they submitted their notices to my office.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to discuss the an issue of national importance and concern, namely, the urgent need not to cut respite services and I call on the Government to support all adults and children with a disability, with proper backup services and resources, and to make this a priority issue. A Cheann Comhairle, following the call I made yesterday for a debate on cystic fibrosis, have you or the Government considered the priority of having a serious discussion the cystic fibrosis services at St. Vincent's hospital, in order to find out what exactly is going on out there?

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to discuss the a matter of national and local importance, namely, the loss of over 100 jobs in Longford at B3 Cables, which is a huge blow to the county, the midlands and the country, as this company is one of the major employers in Longford. Given the shocking increase in unemployment, with the associated human suffering from the economic fall out, it is another nail in the coffin of the supposed recovery. It is a tragedy for the workforce in Longford and I would appreciate if you would give us an opportunity today to discuss this matter.
