I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Joan Burton - the ability of the Daughters of Charity to continue to provide adequate services for persons with intellectual disability at their centres in Dublin in light of funding cuts; (2) Deputy Joe Costello - the need for the Minister for Health and Children to explain why so many applications for renewal of medical cards are being refused under the new system and particularly in the constituency of Dublin Central; (3) Deputy Finian McGrath - the local authority swimming pool programme administered by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism and the urgent need to keep the Northside Swimming Pool in Coolock open; (4) Deputy Pat Breen - the situation regarding the future of the newly refurbished dementia unit at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ennis, County Clare and the need for the Minister for Health and Children, Deputy Mary Harney, to lift the moratorium on employment in the public service to allow for the filling of the positions required so that this facility can open immediately; (5) Deputy Fergus O'Dowd - the closure of the emergency department of Louth County Hospital, Dundalk, and in particular the need to outline the way that emergency calls, including cardiac emergencies, will be dealt with; (6) Deputy John Perry - the regeneration of the Cranmore area of Sligo town; (7) Deputies Martin Ferris and Jimmy Deenihan - the need to grant a foreshore licence for the Shannon LNG project in north Kerry; (8) Deputy Noel J. Coonan - the need for the Minister to set out a detailed timeframe for the implementation of flood relief scheme for The Mall, Templemore town, County Tipperary will take place; (9) Deputy Lucinda Creighton - the difficulties being experienced by carers in accessing funding; and (10) Deputy Kieran O'Donnell - to call on the Minister for Health and Children to make a statement on the closure of the Clonile Respite House run by the Brothers of Charity, Bawnmore, Limerick and the associated discussions involving the Government, the HSE and the Brothers of Charity. The matters raised Deputies Deputy Fergus O'Dowd, Lucinda Creighton, John Perry, Martin Ferris and Jimmy Deenihan have been selected for discussion.
