I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies John Perry and Eamon Scanlon - the effects of the closure of Ballymote courthouse, County Sligo, on Garda personnel in Ballymote and, in particular, the complement of gardaí in Ballymote on the day of a court case in Sligo; (2) Deputy Mary Upton - the need to ensure that a group of employees of a company (details supplied) are given their entitlements following redundancy; (3) Deputy Pat Breen - the need to ensure the provision of services to people in rural areas; (4) Deputy Chris Andrews - the need to review the 1975 thalidomide arrangement; (5) Deputy Joe Costello - the need to protect the integrity of the Irish passport and the safety of citizens travelling abroad; and (6) Deputy Jan O'Sullivan - the need to put in place arrangements to protect patients during any industrial action in the health services.

The matters raised by Deputies Chris Andrews, Jan O'Sullivan, John Perry and Eamon Scanlon, and Joe Costello have been selected for discussion.
