I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy John O'Mahony - the delay in the payment of the 2009 REP scheme 4 to farmers; (2) Deputy Alan Shatter - the need for a redress scheme in respect of residents of the Magdalene laundries; (3) Deputy James Bannon - the provision of services at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath; (4) Deputies Seymour Crawford, Damien English and Shane McEntee - the pending application by EirGrid to proceed with the 400 kV Meath–Tyrone interconnection development project; (5) Deputy Thomas P. Broughan - the inclusion of the EBS in the NAMA process; (6) Deputy Joe McHugh - the investigation into the accident that resulted in the drowning of two fishermen from Glengad off Inishowen Head, County Donegal, in spring 2007; (7) Deputy Phil Hogan - the need to have the M9 motorway between Kilcullen and Carlow opened immediately; (8) Deputy Joan Burton - the recent acknowledgement by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform that women and young girls were routinely committed by order of the courts and other mechanisms to institutions and homes run by religious orders, known as Magdalen laundries; if the Minister will make a statement and outline the position in respect of files and records held by Departments and if these files will be released and what the Minister proposes to do in respect of this matter and the proposals made by the Justice for Magdalene Group; and (9) Deputy Michael D. Higgins - the ongoing plight of the people of western Sahara.

The matters raised by Deputies James Bannon, Michael D. Higgins, Seymour Crawford, Damien English, Shane McEntee and John O'Mahony have been selected for discussion.
