I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Leo Varadkar — the provision of proper permanent accommodation for Tyrrelstown Educate Together School and Mulhuddart national school; (2) Deputy John Perry — the proposed closure of the Stiefel plant in Sligo; (3) Deputy Ulick Burke — the need to appoint a dentist to the Loughrea-Portumna area of County Galway; (4) Deputy Joe McHugh — the need to address indirect taxation strategy in order to increase the Exchequer VAT intake from Border counties; (5) Deputy Noel Treacy — the ongoing flooding in east Galway; (6) Deputy Deirdre Clune — the provision of an extension to St. Francis College, Rochestown, Cork; (7) Deputy Tom Hayes — the need for the Minister for Transport to provide emergency funding for South Tipperary County Council and other local authorities across the country to repair local roads and to alleviate flooding as a priority; (8) Deputy Thomas Byrne — the provision of bus services to Stamullen, County Meath; (9) Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh — the payment of the Christmas bonus to recipients of social welfare payments; (10) Deputy Andrew Doyle — the carers allowance; (11) Deputy Eamon Gilmore — the payment of a higher education grant to a person (details supplied); (12) Deputy Róisín Shortall — the need to provide for a judicial sentencing commission; (13) Deputy Michael Noonan — the subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 818 of Tuesday, 3 November 2009 to the Minister for Social and Family Affairs; (14) Deputy David Stanton — the recent job losses in Youghal, County Cork due to the closure of Tytex, the last manufacturing plant in the town; (15) Deputy Olivia Mitchell — the need for the Health and Safety Authority to undertake an audit of Carrickmines Manor apartment block and other high rise apartment blocks in the area; and (16) Deputy Jimmy Deenihan — the loss of 80 jobs at Beru Manufacturing, Tralee, County Kerry and the steps the Government intends to take to protect the remaining jobs.

The matters raised by Deputies Burke, Thomas Byrne, Treacy and Mitchell have been selected for discussion.
