I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy John Perry — to ask the Minister to make a statement on the introduction of new bilingual recordings for voice annunciators in lifts and prerecorded telephone messages in public buildings, including Leinster House; I first raised this matter with the Minister of State at the Office of Public Works by letter dated 19 September 2007 and later by follow up telephone calls and then another letter dated 11 November 2008, but to date I have received no reply to my representations; (2) Deputy Leo Varadkar — the survival of the aircraft maintenance industry in north Dublin; (3) Deputy Pat Breen — the provision of a new school building for Ennis CBS, County Clare; (4) Deputy Tom Hayes — in light of the serious unemployment figures released last week for south Tipperary and, taking into account the further numbers signing on from Dell, among other companies, in the constituency, to ask the Minister outline her plans to tackle unemployment in the area, particularly taking into account Tipperary town, have there been any further developments with any advance factories in the constituency and if she will make a statement on the issue of unemployment in south Tipperary; (5) Deputy Ciarán Lynch — the provision of paediatric orthopaedic services in the HSE south area; (6) Deputy Joe Costello — the need for the Minister for Transport to introduce a moratorium on taxi numbers; and (7) Deputy Dan Neville — the need to further resource suicide prevention programmes.

The matters raised by Deputies Leo Varadkar, Ciarán Lynch, Dan Neville and Pat Breen have been selected for discussion.
