I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Michael Ring — to ask the Minister for Education and Science the up-to-date position on the construction of a new premises for a gaelscoil in County Mayo and ask that she make a full statement on the matter (details supplied); (2) Deputy David Stanton — to ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to debate the urgent need to address the failure of the Veterinary Council of Ireland to recognise the qualifications of a number of veterinary nursing students who studied at St. John's central college, Cork, in 2005 and who, owing to a loophole in legislation, are not eligible for inclusion in the provisional register of veterinary nurses and, as a result, may not be in a position to continue working as veterinary nurses after 1 July 2008; (3) Deputy Thomas McEllistrim — to call on the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to establish a special squad in the Garda force to deal with anti-social behaviour and public disorder and to strongly urge the Minister to introduce this squad on a pilot basis in Tralee town; (4) Deputy James Bannon — the need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide an update on the new school building for Loughegar national school, County Westmeath — the original building dates back to 1872 — which has been delayed without any explanation being issued from his Department, with the school facing the prospect of having to go back to tender in relation to this urgent matter owing to the risk of losing the builder whose tender has been accepted; (5) Deputy Ulick Burke — the need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to extend the harvesting of peat for domestic purposes on designated bogs beyond 2008 in view of the current high energy costs, and if he will examine the 1997 and 2000 interpretations by the then Governments of the 1992 EU habitats directive; (6) Deputy Brian Hayes — the need for the Minister for Education and Science to make an early statement on a request, now ten years old, that Our Lady's school, Templeogue Road, Dublin 6W, be given approval by his Department to proceed with its building project and if he will make a statement on the matter; (7) Deputy Michael Creed — the failure to provide adult day training for students who reach 18 years of age; (8) Deputy Michael McGrath — that the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government give urgent priority to dealing with the hazardous waste at the former Irish ISPAT site, Haulbowline Island, County Cork, in line with best environmental practice; (9) Deputy Joe Carey — the need to fast track the delivery of the Ennis water augmentation scheme; (10) Deputy Kieran O'Donnell — the provision of disability funding for adult day places at the Daughter of Charity Services, St. Vincent's, Lisnagry, County Limerick; (11) Deputy Simon Coveney — to ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to outline in detail the measures he intends to take to make safe the site at Haulbowline and reassure the population living and working in the vicinity that hazardous and toxic waste materials on the former ISPAT site do not pose a serious public health risk; (12) Deputy Fergus O'Dowd — to ask the Minister for Health and Children to discuss the review of radiology which was carried out in our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, in 2006; the reason for such a review at the time; the terms of reference and outcome of the review, and the actions taken regarding this very significant matter in view of the fact that more than 4,000 X-rays of patients at the hospital are being reviewed as a direct result of misdiagnosis of illness; (13) Deputy Joe Costello — the provision of a permanent school building for Gaelscoil Barra, Cabra; (14) Deputy Thomas Byrne — the situation regarding a health centre for Laytown, County Meath; and (15) Deputy Kathleen Lynch — to discuss the cutback to disability services at the Cork Centre for Independent Living.

The matters raised by Deputies Michael Creed, Kieran O'Donnell, Thomas Byrne and Joe Costello have been selected for discussion.
