I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Michael D'Arcy — the purchase of a site in Gorey; (2) Deputy Joe Costello — the need to establish an independent inquiry into the death of a person; (3) Deputy Jimmy Deenihan — the serious problem facing the orthodontic service in the Kerry area, as outlined in a recent internal report by a senior orthodontic consultant; (4) Deputy Terence Flanagan — the need to meet the requirements of the students attending a school in Donaghmede, Dublin 13; (5) Deputy Ulick Burke — the provision of a new community school in Glenamaddy, County Galway, in view of the fact that the a site has been acquired, planning permission obtained and a contractor appointed, and bearing in mind the condition of the existing school in the area; (6) Deputy Leo Varadkar — the recognition and sanctioning of Carpenterstown Educate Together school, established in September 2008, in addition to the planned VEC national school (details supplied); (7) Deputy Paul Connaughton — the proposed new sewerage scheme for Mountbellew, County Galway, which is urgently required as the present treatment system is hindering the development of the town and polluting the nearby Shiven river; (8) Deputy Fergus O'Dowd — the need to address the bed requirements at the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda; and (9) Deputy Kieran O'Donnell — the need to call on the Minister for Health and Children to demand that the HSE honour the €645,000 owing to St. John's Hospital, Limerick, in respect of facilitating sessional commitments for a consultant nephrologist and consultant breast surgeon, as agreed.

The matters raised by Deputies Costello, O'Dowd, D'Arcy and Terence Flanagan have been selected for discussion.
