I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to enable the appointment by the Standards in Public Office Commission of an inquiry officer to carry out a preliminary inquiry in cases where it is acting of its own initiative and has not received a complaint, for that purpose to amend the Standards in Public Office Act 2001, and to provide for related matters.

Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.
