Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 31.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the delay in providing funding for Kenmare Community Hospital to allow the construction of the 14-bed extension. Funding for this hospital needs to be prioritised. Currently, there are 23 beds for continuing care, respite and convalescent purposes but, given the continued growth of Kenmare and its surrounding areas, it is vital that this extension proceeds immediately.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the urgent need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to make a special difficulty order under the Electoral Act 1992 to extend the voter registration period beyond 25 November 2006 to enable thousands of disenfranchised voters to register with their local authorities.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need for the Minister for Education and Science to meet a deputation from Gaelscoil Chluain Meala to progress the school's application for a site and the construction of a new school. Gaelscoil Chluain Meala is in substandard and overcrowded accommodation and has been awaiting approval for a new school for 12 years.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need for the Government to take initiatives at national and European level to immediately address the loss of life in Gaza over the past week, during which 54 Palestinians have died, and the recent attacks on Beit Hanoun, which have resulted in the loss of civilian lives, including women and children; and the need to support the initiatives on a government of national unity in Palestine.

Having considered the matters raised, they are not in order under Standing Order 31.
