I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies Collins and Neville — the closure of the Microtherm factory in Bruff, County Limerick; (2) Deputy Broughan — the need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to end the embargo on recruitment of local authority staff; (3) Deputy Pat Breen — the cessation of the orthodontic regional training programmes in 1999; (4) Deputy Neville — the closure of Microtherm at Bruff, County Limerick; and (5) Deputy Sargent — the need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to consider the reality of accommodating representatives from three Garda divisions, where necessary, on a joint policing committee; and (6) Deputy Boyle — the need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline the measures taken by his Department to date to secure alternative employment of 172 retail workers at Wilton, Cork.

The matters raised by Deputies Collins, Neville, Sargent and Boyle have been selected for discussion.
