I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ring — to ask the Minister why children in foster care are not eligible for the back to school clothing and footwear allowance scheme and to ask that the Minister amend this to ensure that all children being cared for, including foster children, are eligible for the scheme; (2) Deputy Eamon Ryan — to ask the Minister the action he intends taking with regard to the threatened strike by An Post workers; (3) Deputy Costello — that the Minister ensure that recipients of local authority subsidised heating and the fuel allowance do not suffer by the withdrawal of the fuel allowance; (4) Deputy Catherine Murphy — a recent report published by An Bord Pleanála highlighting serious concerns regarding the increased instance of unauthorised developments being brought to its attention via retention applications, the undermining of the integrity of the planning system by the habitual use of the retention application system, which encourages the bypassing of the official planning process when overused, and the need for local authorities to strengthen their approach to planning and development to discourage such practice; (5) Deputy Crawford — the need for the Minister to allow Cavan no. 1 national school recruit a third teacher as a matter of urgency; (6) Deputy Stanton — to ask the Minister his plans regarding the announcement of the closure of Seafield Fabrics in Youghal; (7) Deputy Boyle — that the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform and-or the Minister for Foreign Affairs explain the circumstances under which a person (details supplied) was not permitted to travel from the country as a result of a false conviction registered against him that has not been removed from Garda files; (8) Deputy Fiona O'Malley — to discuss the report of the Democracy Commission which was published today; and (9) Deputy Deenihan — the delay in allowing the community nursing unit at Kerry General Hospital to go to tender.

The matters raised by Deputies Eamon Ryan, Stanton, Costello and Fiona O'Malley have been selected for discussion.
