On 15 June I stated in the Dáil that the multinational corporation General Electric was involved in a legal manoeuvre to compel the Industrial Development Authority to pay millions of euro for land belonging properly to the Irish people, and that General Electric used these proceeds to finance pressurised redundancies at a company called Diamond Innovations. I am reliably informed that the company in Clonshaugh Industrial Estate responsible for the legal scam at the expense of the taxpayer was not GE or Diamond Innovations. I made the initial statement in good faith on foot of information supplied. However, that was incorrect and the statement that GE or Diamond Innovations was involved was also incorrect. I wish to express my regret in that regard.
