I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to discuss a matter of urgent national importance, namely, in light of the threat of the imminent closure of the acute psychiatric unit at Roscommon County Hospital, the high dependency unit in Castlerea and-or the mental health day care centres throughout County Roscommon as a result of front line staff shortages, which will have a dramatic impact on the provision of health services throughout County Roscommon and the immediate need for the Government and Minister for Health and Children to lift the blanket ban on recruitment of nursing and front line support staff in order to maintain day-to-day operation of vital health services throughout this country.
