The first people Deputy Costello spoke about were not the homeless but the employees and their positions. There are procedures for that matter.

i would like to ask you minister have you ever visited cedar house?? have you been homeless? or further more can you please tell me and my 2,600 supporters on savhomelessservices on facebook where these people are going because every where is full there is no beds. what joe costello has done for the clients in cedar house and for the people of dublins inner city is way above and beyond his duties. you say that you stared a plan in 2008 of elimanating homelessness by 2010? i didnt realise you were so in touch with homelessness, joe costello is right you have over 60,000 families waiting to be housed with DCC and the homeless are bottom of that line i have worked in homeless services and am currently still working there. it is only a pipe dream that this will happen maybe in the years of the celtic tiger. and im sure you are aware that the law on rent allowence is you must be in receipt of rent allowence to continue receiving or be homeless and stay in hostels for 6 months and then be eligable! will all these laws change before you close the emergency night shelters. this is all good to be saying from the dail but untill you work on front line services you are completely out of touch with reality
