Question 5: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the financial liability of the taxpayer in the event of a breach of contract regarding the construction and operation of the Poolbeg waste to energy facility, Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Lake County, Florida, United States. Dec 27, 2009: Because of the feared shortage of local waste and its economic impact on Lake County, the county is desperately trying to import waste to feed its Covanta-incinerator. The contract has already cost Lake County taxpayers about $300 million more than they bargained for. Lawsuits have already lasted 20 years.
