Ba mhaith liom go gcuirfí an Dáil ar athló faoi Bhuan Ordú 32 chun plé práinneach a dhéanamh ar ábhar rí-thábhachtach don phobal, namely, the urgent need for the Government to demand the immediate release of the Irish citizens and others aboard the Spirit of Humanity, which was on its way from Cyprus to Palestine to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged people of Gaza but yesterday fell victim to the Israeli navy's piracy in international waters; to demand the return of the confiscated humanitarian aid that was on board including medicine, toys, olive trees and cement, all of which had been cleared by the customs authorities in Cyprus, which is an EU member state; to demand that Israel release the boat and allow it to proceed on its way; and, in light of the Israeli blockade on Gaza, to end all preferential trading agreements with Israel.
