I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the threat of a rapid rise in homelessness, with a 70% increase in people seeking help to pay their mortgages from the start of this year and 7,000 now applying for assistance, up from 4,000 last December.
